Malossi oil seals are technologically advanced and, although they were specifically designed for competitions, they are also excellent for road use. The oil seal rings, made with the finest materials used in the motorsports sector and suitable for withstanding the most demanding conditions, are the result of the use of the most advanced technologies and boast a production quality in line with the very high Malossi standards.
Technical features
Malossi oil seals have the following architecture:

The contact area between the sealing lip and the rotating part that passes through the hole of the oil seal is the most important and therefore the most protected: the contact between the edge of the lip and the shaft is guaranteed by the spring and the walls (the membrane and the lip) which ensure that there is interference between the two components necessary for the development of the essential radial force to guarantee an optimal seal. After a short period of use, the edge of the sealing lip changes and allows a thin film of fluid to be created between the shaft and the lip which, by preventing direct contact between the two components, promotes lubrication and avoids any oil leakage, exponentially increasing the life of the ring.
Let's now analyze the main aspects of our oil seals:
- Main body made with a special blend of fluorinated elastomer called FKM, among the most valuable on the market, characterized by excellent physical properties in a wide range of temperatures (-15°C ÷ + 210°C), by a maximum operating speed that can reach even 35-40 m/s and by infinite resistance to immersion in hydrocarbons, a characteristic that determines the very long life of our oil seals
- Steel metal insert (armour), in compliance with current regulations, capable of providing the correct mechanical resistance
- Internal stainless steel spring designed to maintain its properties constant over time
