Continuously refined over the years, the legendary cast iron cylinder kits for Vespa now come with a new code, after having undergone a further upgrade regarding above all the main rear transfer ports, the exhaust duct and the intake duct, which has been significantly increased in size.
This is the only thermal group of its kind that uses an O-ring as a sealing gasket between the head and the cylinder. The new head also features a centering track to allow it to mate perfectly with the cylinder.
By improving low-end torque in particular, this engine further increases performance.
Continuing on its path of tireless and total renewal and continuous research into the best possible technical solutions, Malossi has created a new piston specifically for the cast iron cylinder intended for the Vespa. Borrowed from the construction technology underlying the piston that equips the aluminum cylinder, the new piston gains a ring and much more strength. Its intake slot is split to increase its strength and for better guidance inside the cylinder barrel. This solution has made it possible to obtain both further rigidity, eliminating the upper slot from both sides of the piston, and an excellent flow to the transfer ports.
Peeking inside the piston crown gives you an idea of the almost maniacal work that characterizes the entire design and development phase of this new product. Extrusion has been abandoned in favor of a structure with more pronounced ribs that guarantees the piston a first-rate resistance, while making it significantly lighter.
Once again, with this evolution, Malossi technicians have exceeded all expectations!
