MHR THERMAL GROUPS with detachable head
The new MHR TESTA SCOMPONIBILE thermal groups are the natural evolution of the MHR MALOSSI line. The result of the research of its technicians, they have determined the victories of the official national and European teams in cross and speed trophies. Malossi is pleased to be able to guarantee all the pilots who want to participate in the National and European Trophies a product with the highest level of performance and quality.
CYLINDER
Material: special aluminum alloy with a high percentage of silicon and titanium which guarantees high non-deformability at high temperatures.
Heat treatment: special tempering and stabilization that gives the material high tenacity and rigidity, ensuring the consistency of the mechanical and dimensional characteristics up to temperatures of 250° C.
Chip removal processes: carried out on numerically controlled work centres with extremely tight dimensional and shape tolerances (cylindricity, roundness, perpendicularity).
Internal surface coating: made with silicon carbide coating on a nickel matrix, heat treated to guarantee extremely high hardness of approximately 600 HV0.1/5 with extremely high wear resistance.
Internal cylinder processing: with special machines that allow obtaining a very high level of finishing on the sliding walls with roughness intersection according to the angles imposed during the design phase (polishing).
Exhaust and transfer diagrams: designed and created specifically for competition. The definition of the exhaust and transfer diagrams required considerable effort by our technicians on static engine test benches and on the race tracks where the trophy takes place.
PISTON
Material: special alloy with a very high percentage of silicon to ensure extremely high heat resistance and non-deformability when temperatures vary.
External coating: tin coating which guarantees a very low friction coefficient.
Structure: reinforced to withstand the stresses imposed on a top-level competition cylinder kit, but at the same time retains a notable lightness in order to reduce inertial forces.
SEGMENT
Segment in high mechanical resistance spheroidal cast iron with hard chrome coating on the contact surface, ground and lapped.
HEAD
The brand new Malossi modular head was created specifically to ensure the disposal of the considerable quantities of heat that develop in an engine with very high specific power intended for competition.
It consists of a head in special hardened aluminum alloy with a high silicon content fixed directly to the cylinder barrel, which is lapped on its entire external surface by the coolant, ensuring a very high exchange surface. Furthermore, being free from the external walls, it is free to follow the expansions of the cylinder.
The combustion chamber is made entirely with numerically controlled machines in order to guarantee dimensional and shape tolerances to the hundredth of a millimetre.
The detachable head system is completed with a cover that closes the upper part of the cylinder ensuring the seal of the coolant.
The combustion chamber for this cylinder kit has been designed in terms of geometry and squish specifically for use in the Scooter Speed Trophy and Scooter Cross Trophy.
