After 30 years as a protagonist, the timeless Ø 61 cast iron thermal group, art. 31 4093, is renewed!

Continuously refined over the years, the legendary Ø 61 now presents itself with a new code, after having undergone a further upgrade concerning above all the main and rear transfer ports.

This is the only thermal group of its kind that uses an O-ring as a sealing gasket between the head and the cylinder, to ensure better sealing and heat dissipation.

By improving low-end torque in particular, this engine further increases performance.

Once again, with this evolution, Malossi technicians have exceeded all expectations!

Cylinder

Material: special self-lubricating, wear-resistant cast iron alloys with a very high degree of refinement, obtained by gravity casting using the Shell Moulding process.
Processing: on high-precision numerically controlled machine tools.
Heat exchange surfaces recalculated and increased.
Exhaust ducts and transfer ports designed and developed for maximum thermodynamic efficiency.
Dimensional checks of shape and roughness according to Malossi standards.
100% piston-cylinder fit in 0.010-0.005mm selections.
100% hydraulic seal check carried out.
Piston

Material: Special high-silicon aluminum alloy with low thermal expansion.
Processing: on numerically controlled machines.
Lightened and strengthened.
Increased heat exchange surfaces.
Segments

Segments in high mechanical resistance spheroidal cast iron with wear-resistant hard chrome coating on the contact surface, ground and lapped.
Head

Material: Special die-cast aluminum alloy.
Geometry of heat exchange surfaces recalculated and increased.
Processing on super precise numerically controlled machines with diamond tools.
Antioxidant surface treatment.
Compression seal with Viton gasket.
Hemispherical combustion chamber with squish and spark plug in the center.
