From the collaboration of Malossi technicians with Paioli, a truly superlative suspension was born, compact and super light , made entirely of ergal, with the exception of the stem and the spring.
A true variable-rate oleopneumatic suspension, with hydraulic adjustment in extension and compression, compensated by a pressurized nitrogen chamber .
The project was studied at length by the technicians of the two companies who, accustomed to teamwork for years, combined their experiences to create an innovative suspension.
The versatility of this suspension has proven to be surprising thanks to the 3 new adjustment systems, which enhance its use on the road and on the track :
- adjustment of the hydraulic system in extension to absorb all the roughness of the terrain;
- double adjustment of the hydraulic compression system (separate for low and high speed);
- spring preload to adapt the vehicle to the riding position;
- system for varying the set-up for cornering behaviour.
Technical features
These special shock absorbers have technical characteristics that represent the maximum technological expression available on the market today:
- Type: oleopneumatic shock absorber with separate compensation tank
- Use: racing scooter
- Shock absorber rod Ø 14 mm in 38 NiCrMo4UNI 7845 steel, hardened and tempered with 25-30 micron thick hard chrome deposit (surface hardness of the shaft not yet treated HRC 55/60)
- Piston Ø 36 mm with two independent reed valves, one in compression and one in extension
- New lamellar system in harmonic steel that allows for extremely precise calibration
- Piston guide shoe type LUBRIFLON-PTFEB70 (modified compound filled with bronze)
- Sliding on DU GUIDE bush (compound obtained by sintering a layer of spheroidal bronze on a suitably pressed mild steel strip and with subsequent impregnation and coating of a PTFE+FB mixture)
- SEALTHANE Grade 9345 Polyester Resin Scraper Ring
- Micrometric adjustment of the spring pre-load via rings
- Adjustment of hydraulic rebound damping preselectable on approximately 24 positions
- Double adjustment of the hydraulic compression damping pre-selectable on approximately 10 positions each, separate for low and high speed
- Special oil with low viscosity and practically insensitive to temperature variations
- External compensation tank that allows an increase in the quantity of internal fluids
- Wheelbase adjustment of 25 mm (rear shock absorber only)
- Wheelbase: rear 321 + 25 mm - front 181 mm
- Travel: Rear 62mm - Front 45mm
