USE:
High performance 100% synthetic lubricant specifically developed for recently built high power vehicles, with large displacement petrol or diesel engines, naturally aspirated or turbocharged, with direct or indirect injection.
The approvals of numerous manufacturers make the product versatile and recommended for use on vehicles under warranty.
Suitable for all types of fuel: leaded or unleaded petrol, ethanol, diesel, LPG and biofuels.
Compatible with catalytic converters.
Characteristics:
The ACEA B4 specification requires excellent detergent and dispersant power and improved resistance to viscosity increase, due to the presence of soot produced by direct injection Diesel engines (with the exception of VW group pump-injector engines for which MOTUL Specific 505 01 502 00 5W-40 or 8100 X-clean 5W-40 is recommended).
The BMW Long Life-01 approval imposes severe limitations on the lubricant mainly due to the Valvetronic system, it covers all BMW engines produced from 2001 to 2004 and those requiring BMW LL-98. Vehicles produced from 2004 onwards require a product with BMW LL-04 specification such as MOTUL Specific LL-04 5W-40, 8100 X-Clean gen2 5W-40, 8100 X-Clean EFE 5W-30 or 8100 X-Clean+ 5W-30. The BMW LL-01 approval also applies to all petrol engines operating in countries outside the European Union, Switzerland, Norway and Liechtenstein only: refer to BMW recommendations if in doubt. Motul 8100 X-cess gen2 5W-40 meets the requirements of the BMW LL-01 specification for all BMW Group, MINI and ROLLLS-ROYCE cars without exceptions i.e. models before or after 2019. For models up to 2019, Motul 8100 X-cess 5W-40 can also be used.
The OPEL/GM diesel LL B-025 approval requires two fundamental properties for a lubricant: a high HTHS viscosity and a low level of volatility, to minimize oil consumption. Motul 8100 X-cess gen2 5W-40 is especially recommended for OPEL Diesel engines, in particular for 2.0 and 2.2 DTI (extended drain intervals, managed directly by the on-board computer).
The MERCEDES MB 229.5 specification is more restrictive than MB 229.3 in terms of resistance to ageing and resistance of the lubricating film (extended drain intervals, managed directly by the on-board computer), detergent and dispersant power (ACEA B4) and, in addition, requires a significant improvement in fuel economy: 1.7% compared to the reference grade 15W-40. The MERCEDES MB 229.5 specification applies to all MERCEDES petrol engines, including AMG (in the 5W-40 viscosity) except SLR, and to all MERCEDES Diesel engines without DPF. The MB 226.5 specification is similar to 229.5 and applies to MERCEDES petrol engines resulting from the MERCEDES/RENAULT-NISSAN partnership.
The Porsche A40 standard is extremely demanding in terms of resistance to shear stress of the lubricating film. It applies to all Porsche engines except the Cayenne V6 and Diesel versions, and engines requiring a Porsche A40, C20 and C30 approved lubricant.
The Renault RN0700 and RN0710 specifications require lubricants capable of withstanding the most severe thermal conditions together with compatibility with modern Renault exhaust gas post-treatment systems.
The Renault RN0700 standard applies to all naturally aspirated petrol engines (except Renault Sport) of the Renault group (Renault, Dacia, Samsung). The RN0700 approval also applies to all Renault cars equipped with 1.5 dCi Diesel engines without a particulate filter (DPF) with less than 100 HP output and with a drain interval of 20,000 km or 1 year. The Renault RN0710 specification does not apply to Renault cars equipped with 1.5 dCi Diesel engines without a particulate filter (DPF) with less than 100 HP output and with a drain interval of 20,000 km or 1 year for which an RN0700 lubricant is specifically required. For the 2.2 dCi with DPF, use only an RN0710 approved lubricant and not RN0720.
The FIAT 9.55535-H2, M2, N2 and Z2 performance levels require the lubricant to combine the ACEA A3/B4 specification and the 5W40 grade in order to perfectly lubricate most petrol and Diesel engines of the FIAT, ALFA ROMEO and LANCIA brands produced before July 2007, especially the Twin Turbo Diesel engines (FIAT 9.55535-Z2).
PSA has developed the B71 2296 standard so that oils in this category have high thermal stability ensuring prolonged resistance to high temperatures to avoid sludge formation and viscosity increase caused by carbon produced by combustion residues. The PSA B71 2296 specification is suitable for both PSA petrol and Diesel engines requiring this standard: always refer to the vehicle use and maintenance manual.
